Abstract :
Time resolved K measurements from a multilayered anode of a pinched REB diode will be shown. Experiments were performed for various thicknesses of the Kα emitting layer. Results are analysed using a detailed Monte-Carlo simulation. Special attention is paid to reflexing and angle of incidence. Experiments are also proposed for employing time resolved Kα spectrometry for measuring the effects of plasma temperature, density and projectile charge state on the range of ions in a plasma. Time dependent energy drop of exiting Carbon ions traversing a thin C target can be monitored using Kα emission from a second heavier analysing layer.
