Abstract
Features have been widely used in the field of domain engineering to model commonality and variability among a family of related systems. In order to obtain a precise feature model and make sure that each element in the feature model establishes its reason for existing, we propose a trace ability approach to constructing domain feature model from use case models. In this approach, a domain use case diagram (DUCD) is first constructed from a set of system use case diagrams (UCDs), and then an initial feature model is derived from the DUCD and further extended by use case specifications. During each process, we use a relational table to build trace ability relationships between features and use cases. A case study on library management domain is introduced to illustrate the feasibility of this approach.
