Abstract :
This paper proposed a new method to extract remote sensing road images based on the Hough transformation and the morphology. The road information is first extracted by using the Hough transformation to detect the direction and the width of main roads. Meanwhile, the morphology method is introduced to detect the corners and detail information of roads. The two images, which are extracted through Hough transformation and morphology, are then merged as the final output. Result shows that this method solves the misjudgment phenomenon of both Hough transformation method and morphological method.
