Abstract :
The results of experimental studies of magnetically insulated diode (MID) are given. Diode operates at 0.6 MV and 200 kA for 60 ns, ion current is 120 kA. The radial profile of ion current density is controlled by Hr ratio at inner and outer radii. A small longitudinal field Hz makes a strong influence on current dynamics in MID. Faraday cup operation at 1,5 kA/cm2 is studied. The experimental data on ion current enhancement and the nature of electron leakage to anode are discussed.
