Abstract :
In this paper the design and the realization of a ultra wide band (UWB) radar for breath activity monitoring is described. The radar structure is first described and then the design of the various subsystems, performed by using commercial CAD, is shown. Finally, the subsystems have been realized by means of a low cost planar technology and measurement results are presented, evidencing a good agreement with simulations. The EMC analysis of the whole system evidences the compliance of the radar with International Space Station emission masks.
