Abstract
This paper investigates the use of Model Predictive Control (MPC) for a three phase to three phase direct matrix converter power supply with input and output LC filter under nonlinear load conditions. The work describes in details the design of the proposed finite states model predictive control in conjunction with a full load observer. The proposed matrix converter power supply is capable of a good tracking of the imposed output reference voltage, allowing generation of output voltage with low harmonic distortion by means of a single control loop with no modulator. A simulation study is presented to validate the proposed control scheme.
