Abstract :
The paper deals with the exploitation of the proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) and DC-DC power conversion. Fuel cell is a relatively sensitive power source and needs a special attention during the exploitation. The DC-DC power converter system consists of two DC-DC basic converters. In order to increase the output voltage the boost converter has to be used. The fuel cell dynamic is relatively low compared with load dynamics. Due to this the additional DC sources and DC-DC bi-directional converter have to be introduced into the system. This converter is capable to protect the fuel cell (dPcell/dt) and on the other hand to provide the required energy to the changing load.
