Abstract :
the paper presents a new integration concept to generate high voltage step-up non-isolated DC/DC converters. The integration concept relays on the separation of the converter circuit in two or three parts, named input, middle and output sections. Any basic converter can partially or fully share one of its sections with other basic converter. In the paper is demonstrated that, for the input section parallel integration, the circuits remaining output sections can be associated in a series, parallel or cascaded (only for isolated circuits) connection. The output sections association allows to the integrated topology to sum the voltage gain of both individual basic converters enhancing the converter voltage step-up feature. Aiming to provide an example, the integration of the boost and flyback converters with Input Section Integration and Series Output Section Association is presented. The resulting integrated topology is theoretically and experimentally evaluated. The results prove that the integration methodology is an effective way to obtain high voltage conversion ratio circuits and the derived topology are highly efficient due to their low ESR.
