Abstract :
The article presents the current state of coding process in Laboratory of Control Engineering and Power Electronics and efforts to improve it. The main problems arise when staff handles big and complex projects and when students start to work on their thesis. Staff experiences are presented as well as initial steps towards supervised software development process. Different approaches are used for student programming process and staff programming process. Preliminary software metrics is presented, which, along with staff experience, validate the steps taken.
