  • Abstract
One of the significant challenges for the certifications engineer is keeping abreast of the ever changing regulations around the world. The certifications engineer needs to be aware of upcoming regulatory changes well before they occur. Failure to adequately track such changes can prevent products from being accepted in their intended markets of sale or use. Unanticipated regulatory changes can result in penalties levied by regulatory authorities and even force the rework of products. Foreseeing upcoming changes can be particularly challenging for companies with limited resources. This paper provides strategies for tracking proposed standards and requirements when you do not have a dedicated staff assigned to the task.
