Abstract :
The combination between a two dimensional (2D) filter with a non-rectangular spectrum and the 3- points diagonal averaging method is proposed in this paper as a channel estimation method for a 2×2 MIMO DVB-T2 system. The 3-points diagonal averaging method can shorten the distance between reference pilot along frequency direction before interpolation; consequently, it will optimize the performance of an interpolation filter. The two stages implementation of a 2D nonrectangular filter is also proposed in this paper to reduce the complexity of the channel estimation method. Simulation results show the robustness of the proposed method in very high speed mobile environment.
