Abstract :
Ssatellite platform have their SCC (Satellite Control Center), but the payload embarked on the platform needs also its “driver”. This is the role of the Mission Control Center (MCC). Thales Alenia Space has a long history in development and supply of MCC, for commercial and institutional SatCom missions. Today, telecom market is facing the introduction of complex payloads in the core missions (FSS C, Ku and Ka), featuring new architectures with multiple spot beam coverage, flexible frequency and power resource allocation demand, complex and variable channel to beam allocation requirements, digital transparent processing, adaptative wave-form etc. Consequently the in-orbit validation, operation, planning and resource optimization of such systems is anticipated to become more and more complex, hence requiring to develop new operating concepts and tools Now, that these technologies are ready to deploy, interface tools have to be proposed to users to help them mastering the underlying complexity and taking the best profit of all their power.
