Abstract :
The ISDB-T (Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting-Terrestrial) is a terrestrial digital TV broadcasting system in Japan. One-Segment Service is a broadcasting service for mobile terminals like a mobile phone. However, reception quality of One-Segment Service is deteriorated in a multipath fading channel because the bandwidth is narrower than ordinal 13-segment ISDB-T. The antenna diversity is one of the effective techniques to solve the problem. However, it is difficult to install multiple antennas in a small mobile terminal. In this paper, the cooperative reception scheme using multiple terminals for digital television broadcasting One-Segment Service is proposed. In cooperative reception scheme, the amount of the sharing information among the terminals should be less because the data rate of the radio link is limited. The broadcasting method that other terminals transmit the channel information and the scattered pilot symbol in order of more powerful carrier is proposed to reduce the amount of the sharing information. The error rate performance can be improved by increasing the number of the receiving terminals and using the proposed cooperative reception method in the One-Segment Service.
