Abstract
In this paper, the modified pseudo-ternary M-sequence is designed as the orthogonal code set of bi-orthogonal modulation systems. Moreover, the simple code tracking system using the Delay Lock Loop(DLL) and the modified pseudo-ternary M-sequence is proposed for the bi-orthogonal modulation system. The modified pseudo-ternary M-sequence is a PN code which combines the {0, 1}-valued M-sequence with the Hadamard code. The S-curve characteristic of the proposed system is much the same as that of the conventional 1Δ-DLL system with {-1,1}-valued M-sequence. The bit error rate performance in channel with the Additive White Gaussian Noise is evaluated. As a result, it is shown that the proposed system is superior to the conventional system using the synchronizing PN code. It is found that the bit error rate performance can approach the lower bound of bi-orthogonal modulation system.
