Abstract :
This paper presents the simulation research of the evaporative cooling technology in generator circuit-breakers (GCB). As generator circuit-breakers carry operating currents of several 10 kA and short time currents of several 100kA, large amount of heat is generated in the generator circuit-breaker. Thus, the evaporative cooling technology is proposed to cooling the conductor of the generator circuit-breaker. The thermal simulation of the generator circuit-breaker and the flow field simulation of the air-cooled condenser lay the foundation for the evaporative cooling technology using in GCB.
