Abstract
In this paper, we proposed the finite element modeling for short-circuit electromagnetic force analysis of a power transformer. In order to improve the accuracy of analysis, we modeled HV winding and LV winding as similar as those windings of a model transformer. Magnetic vector potential and leakage flux due to the short-circuit currents are solved from finite element method base on magnetic field. The shortcircuit electromagnetic forces comprised of radial and axial direction are calculated by interaction of the short-circuit currents and the leakage flux.
