Abstract :
This paper describes a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control method using hill-climbing search (HCS) for permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) small wind turbine generation system. The dynamics characteristics are simulated by MATLAB/Simulink. The conventional control method is controlled using a fixed the tip speed ratio. In contrast, HCS-MPPT control method is controlled using a variable the tip speed ratio. As a result, it is verified that HCS-MPPT control method can achieve higher electrical power than the conventional control method when the phase resistance Rs of PMSG is varied.
