Abstract :
This paper introduces a digital controlled fast average current mode dc-dc converter using a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) and a FIR filter. The VCO is used to detect the current in real time. The minimum phase FIR filter is preformed to control the output voltage. The proposed method shows a superior transient response. As a result, the convergence time of output voltage is improved to 97% compared with the conventional digital voltage mode control method. The undershoot of output voltage and the overshoot of reactor current are completely suppressed.
