Abstract :
This paper presents results of magnetic characteristic analysis of a synchronous reluctance motor utilizing grain-oriented electrical steel sheets (GO) as a rotor core material. In the analysis, to make clear the effect of GO on the torque characteristics, we consider vector magnetic properties approximately in the magnetic characteristic analysis of the rotor region, because the rotor rotates synchronously with the rotating magnetic field. The calculated results of the model rotor utilizing GO in the segmented parts are compared with those made of the common non-oriented electrical steel sheet (NO).
