Abstract :
Generalization of the pattern equation method (PEM) for calculating the scattering characteristics averaged over radiation angle in a two-dimensional diffraction problem on the impedance infinitely-long cylinder is obtained. Comparison of the developed algorithm of the PEM with the averaging technique in the T-matrix method is carried out. The calculation results of usual and average scattering patterns and integral scattering cross-sections for various geometries of section of the cylinder are presented.
