Abstract
The use of video material for learning has been a constant in the educational environment for many years, but it has not been heavily exploited in the field of mobile devices yet. We believe that in this case, the use of interactive video in split screen encourages and enriches the educational experience, and is adapted to the mobile environment allowing all the resources to be kept on the screen. There exist applications related to educational interactive video units in web environments (such as the Viddix or Tuva projects), however, few are used in mobility contexts [1], and so far, none have studied the usability and suitability of a split screen interface. We have developed ViMoLe, a mobile application that allows interactive multimedia material to be reproduced multimedia material on Android devices using different adapted interfaces. We present the application along with an initial experiment in which users test and compare different available interaction systems, in order to study their preferences and analyze their behavior.
