Abstract :
This paper presents a study of the impact on power and performance simultaneously for mobile computing systems by tuning different knobs for some of the key ingredients such as CPU and memory. Industry standard benchmarks are used to represent common usages such as MM07 office productivity and Blu-ray movie playback. Building more understanding of the dependency of power and performance on different component configurations allows the system designer to do better trade-offs and make informed decisions based on the intended usage. The scope of the presented study covers the impact of CPU frequency and memory configurations.
