Abstract :
An 80-GW intense electron beam accelerator has been designed, built, tested, and now is in operation at Institute of Atomic Energy of the Academia Sinica for fundamental research in pulse power technology and particle beam inertial confinement fusion. Its pulse parameters are 80 GW, 5.6 KJ, 1 MV, 80 KA, 70 NS. This accelerator consists of an oil-immersed Marx generator, a Blumlein transmission line, which is filled with deionized water, and a field emission vacuum diode. The physical experiments on interactions between electron beam and targets have been performed.
