Abstract
Wireless sensing constitutes a broad investigation area for many relevant applications. This paper reviews and compares different approaches under a methodology viewpoint. A unified analytical formulation allows to address sensitivity issues and to provide some guidelines in view of further numerical-based optimization. Whilst RFID technology represents an attractive solution, reflectometer techniques, thanks to their flexibility, may be expected to play an increasing role in the future of wireless sensing.
