Abstract :
The studies on the creation of electron beam generators with an energy of several kJ per pulse, accelerating voltage up to several MeV, pulse duration of about 10S-5 with a high quality of the beam (low energy spread and small emittance)t and repetition rate up to ~100 pps were started at the Institute of Nuclear Physics (INP), Novosibirsk, in 1974. This work was initiated by Professor G.I.Budker who took active part in it.
