Abstract :
Previously [1,2] an ion current up to 2kA was obtained in magnetically insulated diode at the voltage of 160kV and with magnetic insulation time ~1 μS. Differently from the conclusions made in [3] we consider that with slow growth of voltage the anode plasma is produced because of electron bombardment of anode. This is confirmed by the following facts: 1 When a polyethylene anode insertion (Fig.1) has been replaced by one of the hydrogen impregnated titanum, the ion current density remains high. 2 An essential delay of ion current pulse is observed respective to the time when voltage has been switched on. A Sufficient energy for plasma production could been released on the anode due to electron bombardment during this time. 3 With the magnetic field rise the energy realized on the ion collector reaches it´s peak value and then at B>;(3÷4)Bcr drapes down. This drop is own to the anode plasma density decrease due to the reduction of the electron component in the diode current. 4. To fixe the anode surface damage spot because of the electron bombardent the jut had been arranged on the anode. Then the damage spot was displaced with regard to the jut in the direction of the drift. As the field direction had been changed, the energy flow to the collector was strongly decreased.
