Abstract :
As can be seen from the interpretation in §3, the target for the adiabatic compression must have the multilayer structure or the tamper around the bare target in order to shorten the length of the deflagration wave. In the tamper, the electron number density of the background plasma must be large, because the interaction between the beam and the plasma depends on the electron number density. Thus high Z materials are expected to be usefull for the tamper.
