Abstract :
The formation of high-current relativistic electron beams (REBs) for microwave electronics problems imposes rigid requirements on the electron paths and velocities. In most cases a strong energy and velocity component dispersion is not desirable. For a wide class of systems with axial bunching (TWT, BWO, klystron, etc.) electron transverse oscilllations must be insignificant: equation where γ=(1−β2)−½ is the relativistic factor, equation
