Abstract :
Maximization of the network throughput when broadcasting has the important significance to make full use of the wireless network resource, as VANET is applied to vehicle fleet. According to analysis on the relationship between network throughput and vehicle fleet numbers, node density, velocity of fleet & working mechanism of 802.11 broadcast protocol, this paper puts forward a self-adaptive strategy of adjusting the contention windows on the base of states of vehicle fleet and position of nodes in fleet. the simulation shows that this strategy improves utilization rate of network resource.
