Abstract :
In HAMR recording system, the thermal profile in recording medium is the key factor to determine the writing process. This work has developed the heat absorption model for composite materials of grains and grain boundaries. Besides the (n, k) values of recording layer itself, the optical constant of intermediate layers can vary the heat absorption rate in a big range. It is very important in the thermal design of HAMR recording media.
