Abstract :
In this paper, we investigate a simple iterative two-dimensional (2D) equalizer based on the contraction mapping to mitigate both inter-track interference and inter-symbol interference of bit patterned media. The performance of the 2D equalizer is measured using computer simulations in terms of bit error rate. Three conventional equalizers are also evaluated for comparison´s purpose.
