Abstract :
A hybrid method of genetic algorithm (GA) with method of moments (MoM) is presented in this paper to realize the wide angle shaped pattern taking the mutual coupling into account. The numerical experiment of a 30-element linear array is presented to validate the method. The results of these two methods agree well in the shaped region. With this method to optimize the excitation, the shaped region of the array pattern reaches nearly 45°, and the targets of the maximum ripple less than 2.0 dBi and the sidelobe level less than -25.0dBi are also obtained.
