Abstract :
A simple printed triple-band monopole antenna for applications in WLAN and WiMAX band is proposed. The antenna is very compact with a size of 26 × 20 × 1mm3 and fed by a 50 Ω microstrip line with a modified ground plane. An experimental prototype has been fabricated and tested. The measured results show good triple-band operation with -10dB impedance bandwidths of the proposed antenna cover 2.38-2.53GHz, 3.37-4.04GHz, and 4.51-6.04GHz, respectively, which meet the required bandwidths specification of 2.4/5GHz WLAN and 3.5/5.5GHz WiMAX standard. In addition, good antenna performances such as radiation patterns and antenna gain over the operating bands have been obtained.
