Abstract :
A novel planar scissors monopole antenna for ultrawideband (UWB) communication is presented in this paper. Printed on a dielectric substrate and fed by a 50 microstrip line, a planar scissors monopole has been demonstrated to provide an ultra-wide bandwidth with voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) less than 2 with satisfactory radiation properties. Details of the antenna design and measured results are presented and discussed. Good agreement is achieved between the simulation and the experiment.
