Abstract :
A new structure like the Chinese character “t” for wide angle scan with high gain has been developed based on PIN diodes. The size of the structure and the reconfigurable mechanism are present in the details. The antennas from the structure satisfy the requirements on the maximum reflection coefficient of Γ ≤ 20 dB for ±60° and ±57. 5° from a broadside in E- and H- planes with a moderate gain of 4-7 dBi. The 2.4GHz antenna prototype is fabricated, tested experimentally and shows good performance to confirm the validity of the structure.
