Abstract
In this paper, a simply method was introduced to be calculated drift velocity of the ionosphere by analysis the frequency shift and phase change of the receiving signals from digisonde. By using data was observed with TR169 station at Tromso (E19.2°, N69.6°) and JI91J station at Jicamarca (W76.8°, S12.0°) in 2010, the ionosphere drift velocity were calculated and analyzed. Meanwhile, an analysis of kp index on February 2010 shows that the change of kp index influence on the ionosphere drift velocity at high-latitude is more significant than at low-latitude. Finally, a statistical analysis of the drift velocities at this two places show that the component of the drift velocity is mainly horizontal eastward. The daily average velocity at Tromso is nearly to Jicamarca and the average speed rates are obviously greater than Jicamarca, which may be caused by the more complex environments, it also results more difficulties for calculating the velocity at high-latitude.
