  • Abstract
Due to the influence of atmosphere condition, cloud cover is one of the most disturbance factors in remote sensing image. So cloud detection and removal is a very important step for improving the quality of the image before making analysis. In this paper, the multispectral cloud detection algorithm based on spectral character and threshold is used to detect cloud, then in order to make up for the defects of different removing cloud methods, different methods to remove the cloud in images should be used according to different cloud thickness. The improved homomorphic filter algorithm and replacement method are selected to remove cloud in MODIS images. It is found that the effect of removing cloud is very significant. Finally, cloud processing is applied to the inversion of sea-surface temperature (SST).
