Abstract :
This paper presented a novel unconditional stable FDTD (US-FDTD) scheme for the transient analysis of high speed interconnects. Compared to the traditional precise integration time-domain (PITD) algorithm, it can solve the transient response of the transmission lines with arbitrary boundary conditions by coupled to the circuit simulator. In addition, the precise Sub-Time-Step scheme has been adopted to reduce the numerical dispersion error. So larger time scales can be chosen for the transient simulation to achieve accurate results efficiently than conventional US-FDTD methods. Numerical results demonstrate the accuracy, efficiency, and versatility of the proposed model.
