Abstract :
During the process of high-speed railway running, the modulated signals of different frequencies show much more multi-path fading degree because of the Doppler shift. The bit error rate (BER) characteristics of signal are different from that at low-speed. The BER has a significant impact on the reliability of wireless mobile communication system. A wireless channel model is formulated include large scale effects and fading caused by randomness and multipath encountered under high speed railway environment, and used for the estimation to the BER of two advanced modulation system, GSM-R and TETRA, for high-speed railway systems. The effects of the different railway speed and different signal frequency to the wireless radio BER are analysed based on the simulated results.
