Abstract :
Wind power plants are strategic sources of electricity in most of countries. The wind speed in near future is one of most important factor that must be obvious, because they have to produce a specified amount of electricity every day. So the wind speed forecasting is vital for them. Locally linear fuzzy modeling approach is a tool that is used in this paper for forecasting. This method is based on divide-and-conquer strategy and fuzzy logic. Also for getting more accurate results Mutual Information tool is used for short term forecast. This method is based on information theory and finds the most relevant inputs to output.
