Abstract :
The term Sales force automation (SFA) is a technique or method to use software or information technology to automate the business tasks of sales, including order booking, order processing, contact management, information sharing/visibility, inventory monitoring/ control and sales forecast analysis. It introduces the concept of automation in real business in order to attain the desired management objectives of the company or groups. The techniques leading to business process efficiency in all the business areas are discussed. Business process efficiency refers to the benefits gained through business process improvement which are obtained by activities that strive to improve organizational operational or functional processes. The study has unlocked ways to other businesses to explore more options towards the applications of Sales force automation techniques. It would also discuss in detail how the information technology in sales & distribution helped to achieve organizational goals and business process efficiency. The paper not only focuses on sales force automation but goes beyond to actually contributing in business process efficiency in the overall sales and distribution world.
