Abstract
Two broadband CPW-fed open cross-slot antennas are presented in this paper. First, a standard cross-slot is designed for the prototype. By displacing two vertical slot segments, a modified cross-slot generates two orthogonal electric fields with same amplitude and phase difference of 90 degree so that the broadband circular polarization can be achieved. For the modified cross-slot, the measured 10-dB return loss bandwidth is 48.8 % (1.69-2.78 GHz), which can be used for several wireless communication systems. The circularly polarized performance can be used for the SDAR systems.
