Abstract
This paper describes the application of Diophantine equation in auto tuned PID controllers. The method has been applied to a second order system with no zeroes. The plant transfer function is obtained by system identification toolbox of the MATLAB. The uniqueness of this approach is that the PID parameters can be found very quickly with less computational efforts. The proposed method has been validated on the speed control of a DC motor.
