Abstract
State of the art anti-slip control methods for railway vehicle traction are reviewed in this paper. They are categorized based on the applications target of wheel slip controls. The purposes of the control, for instance, are to maximize the tangential force for the locomotive and to prevent the wheel slip for electrical motive units. This paper concludes that the difference of the anti-slip control method is due to the difference of the extent of tractive force to be transmitted through the tangential force which is called adhesive coefficient.
