Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to present a new dc-dc converter with the digital variable gain switchover function and its improved characteristics. This proposed method changes the integral coefficient KI. The integral coefficient KI changes for the continuous current mode and discontinuous current mode. The reactor current is detected using two high-speed A-D converters. Then the valley reactor current is calculated. Based on the valley reactor current, the average value of reactor current is calculated. The integral coefficient KI is changed to appropriate value using the calculate result. Then it is confirmed that the regulation characteristics is improved. Additionally, this paper discusses the transient response of the proposed method. As a result, the transient response of proposed method shows more excellent results than the conventional P-I-D method and the two stage integral coefficient switchover function method.
