Abstract :
During islanded mode operation, the rated frequency of a microgrid should be maintained. For this, the battery energy storage systems (BESS) can be used. In this paper, a coordinated frequency control of the Lead-acid BESS and Lithium-ion (Li-ion) BESS during islanded operation is dealt with. Through the simulation, the proposed control scheme based on the characteristics of Lead-acid BESS and Li-ion BESS is tested to show the validation.
