Abstract :
This paper proposes a robust control strategy for interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) without rotor position sensor. The proposed strategy is based on quasi-continuous higher order sliding mode controller, which allows to attenuate the effects of the chattering, improve the robustness with respect to external disturbances and parameters uncertainties. Additionally, the maximum-torque per ampere (MTPA) strategy is applied to increase the efficiency of the controlled drive. Furthermore, an adaptive interconnected observer is used to estimate the speed, the position, the load torque and the stator resistance. The closed-loop system stability is studied and conditions are obtained to ensure the practical stability. Performances of the controller-observer are illustrated in a simulation study under parameter uncertainties and external disturbances.
