Abstract :
This paper presents the results of a research aimed at studying the effect of information and communications technology (ICT) on productivity, using the data of the Costa Rican innovation survey 2008. The results obtained show that the ICT variables considered contribute to explain the productivity of the companies participating in the above-mentioned survey. However, these variables have an indirect, yet not direct, contribution to the productivity. This might be explained to limitations in the data used.
