Abstract :
In this paper, basic characteristics of satellite communication VSAT and USAT earth station are described simply. According to ITU recommendation and INTELSAT IESS standard, design objectives of satellite communication VSAT and USAT earth station antenna are introduced systematically, side-lobe characteristic of antenna pattern, cross polarization characteristic of antenna, and characteristic of off-axis EIRP. Limitation of side-lobe characteristic requirement is pointed. At last, recommendation of antenna pattern first side-lobe level request is put forward for VSAT and USAT earth station.
