Abstract :
This paper suggests the improvement and generalization of the wideband ambiguity function for the case of MIMO radar signals. The proposed generalization of the ambiguity function is based on the multivariate copula notion. As a result it does not depend on a probability density function. This is an important advantage because sounding waveforms and reflected radar signals have different and unknown probability density functions. The MIMO copula ambiguity function is useful for both analysis/synthesis of sounding waveforms (auto-ambiguity) and reflected signal detection/measurement (cross-ambiguity) for multistatic radars. The application of this approach gets rid of a dependence on the signal probability distribution, implementing actually non-parametric approach with CFAR.
